I just love plaids. There are quite a few different tuts on how to make them.

I was fooling around and came up with this, it is so quick and easy.

1. open a transparent image 350x350

2. fill the image with a pattern, a gradient or whatever you want

like this:

3. use the Crescent Moon/ Strip Tile filter and move the top slider to 255

4. duplicate the striped layer and rotate the top layer only 90 degrees

like this:

5. lower the opacity to 50% and merge the layers

6. use the Simple/ Centre Tile filter and merge all (flatten)

like this:
